something that took place in school

I remember so vividly the occasion when my friends and I were bullied. My friends and I were at the basketball court. We chortled in unison at a joke that had just been told. Our joy was seemingly ephemeral, seeing as three teenagers were strutting towards us. Our laughter ended abruptly, and we hastened our pace to avoid them. One of them shouted, "Hey, why are you running!" Our teacher had warned us before to minimize contact with strangers, especially those that resembled gangsters and the teenagers who were approaching us fitted that description perfectly. Unfortunately they dashed after us and began shouting, "Why did you not answer us!" They began punching my friend who could not run away fast enough. Desperate to save my friend, yet not daring to stand up to those bullies, I was in a dilemma. I started pulling my hair, wrecking my brain for a solution. Finally, I had a brainwave. I remembered that bullies were cowards at heart thus, I took a deep breath and roared, " I have already called the police. They will be here soon and you boys will be sent to prison!", in a reasonable impression of an intimidating man. They turned tail and fled without a glance back. I rushed to my friend to see whether he was alright. Thankfully, the bullies did not manage to harm him much. "Let's report the bullies to the principal" I told my friend as I helped him up. Though it was a traumatizing experience for us, I learned from this ordeal that friends had to help one another.
